Week 12 My normal 0600hrs start was suddenly 0700hrs due to Daylight Saving (Summer Time) starting today... So, lots of things to think about - the boat, mowing, vegie garden, general tidying up. Reminding me of just how lucky I am to have our volunteer/helper on the (limited) payroll. We still have April to get through - the local saying is "Ah Pril doet wat 't wil" (April pronounced Ah-Pril) meaning April does whatever it wants to - weatherwise. But who knows these days? We've just had a surprisingly pleasant March. I'm reading a lot on Bluesky and Politico (Europe) lately... Barry and I used to have an Australian book "The Superior Person's Little Book of Words" I've never forgotten one of the author's notes " one can only ask, can such things be ?"... has to apply here (and just about everything else coming out of America these days) You can get 7 Super natural blessings for a whole year for $1000 from the President’s spiritua...

Week 11 The days have been starting like this - with my beanie on in the morning and shirt sleeves by the afternoon....Friday was the hottest March 21 on record... NL News Some 18% of Dutch adults smoke, 6% are heavy drinkers and half are overweight, according to the latest edition of the CBS’s annual health survey. Fewer people smoked and drank last year when compared with 10 years ago but the number of people who are too heavy remained the same, the statistics agency said. The number of smokers went down from 26% in 2014 to 18% a decade later, while the percentage of heavy drinkers (more than 21 units of alcohol per week for men and 14 for women) shrank from 10% to 6%. On average people with university and college degrees, smoked less and were less often overweight than those without. Weight is also related to income, with people on the lower income scale more at risk of being overweight than higher income groups, the research showed. From Andrew in Oz https://www.abc.net....
